We provide and/or coordinate wrap-around services to victims of domestic abuse and their dependent children through our Coatesville site, Kennett Square site and throughout the county. We are accessible 24-hours/day to serve victims/survivors in crisis. All sites provide bilingual (English/Spanish) services.
Free and confidential services include:
Hotline
- 24-hour, 7-days-a-week hotlines including a toll-free number and TTY
Adult Counseling
- Crisis intervention, intake and needs assessments
- Individual and group non-therapeutic counseling
- Service and safety planning
- Information and referrals
Children’s Services
- Counseling and domestic violence education
- Parental relief childcare by arrangement
- Regularly scheduled recreational activities and a regularly scheduled homework period during the school year
Housing
- Emergency Shelter for 30 days
- Bridge Transitional Housing for 18 months
- Phase III Independent Living for 18 months
- Phase IV Self-Sufficient Living for 24 months
Legal Center
- Attorneys and legal advocates provide options counseling, advocacy, and representation in Protection From Abuse matters
- Accompaniment to court hearings and outreach to District Courts

Medical Advocacy Program
- Trains health care providers to screen patients for domestic abuse and provides technical support to hospitals in developing policies and protocols to respond to domestic violence

“I don’t deserve to be beat up on, ridiculed, or belittled. I can make my own decisions and be my own person. I don’t have to take it anymore. I deserve to be happy and to have a life. It took some time for me to grasp it. Also, when you realize that you have to be responsible for yourself and your children it can be very scary and you may go back. It’s okay if you do. It took me ten times to get the point. I went back for nine years and it almost cost me my life or jail time. No one is worth that much pain and misery. There is a life without your abuser. It can be done.”
