WIC is a federally funded program of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) that provides healthy supplemental foods and a range of nutrition services to pregnant women, postpartum and breastfeeding women, infants and children under age 5 in a supportive environment.
The goal of WIC is to decrease the risk of poor birth outcomes and to improve the health of the participants during critical stages of growth and development.
